The 6 Meter is alive and well here in South Texas. The 1932 design is not meant to be competitive with the current 6 Meter class boats raced outside the USA. Rather this is a fine sailing model for someone that doesn't care about racing and would rather simply have a rock solid model that will perform and please it's owner for generations to come.
These models will last as long as they are cared for. Some of them around here are 30+ years old and still as solid as they day they were launched. With sailing characteristics similar to an EC-12, but much stiffer.. this boat will give decades of enjoyment to the owners.
Hard to believe that was me putting the striping on Jim Humphries boat back in 1984, but it goes to show that we both have survived and are still sailing!
