Mission Statement: Why we are here, and the reason for being so deeply involved in R/C sailing is actually a long story with a constant theme. Simply put, the whole reason for this entire operation is to provide a source outlet for those fortunate individuals who have an interest in sailing radio controlled model yachts. I have enjoyed sailing since I was 10 and on my first Sunfish (before they were AMF) and have worked in two separate sailboat dealerships before following my career as a professional pilot and afterwards (when we all were laid off) I acquired the molds from REYNOLDS MFG. of Orlando, Florida in 1982 after the passing of John Reynolds the owner and founder who produced a reasonable amount of boats from various classes. Since that time I have been involved in putting boats on the water.... and that is really what this whole thing is about. I have no illusions about the money end of this business, that is not what it's about. Everyone told me from the beginning that I will be working long hours for minimum wage.. and probably still come up short more often than not and while this is completely true I do enjoy the simple fact that we are providing something for a lot of people that otherwise would be at the very least, delayed or possibly denied the chance of enjoying. That is something that is simply not acceptable to me. Therefore we are pushing forward with this move, and committing all the reserves into the battle to attempt to get ahead and provide a quality product that might even achieve "in stock" status so that we can make the models available in a more timely manner. The bottom line is providing what you the customer need to get you out from in front of your computer and on the lake sailing your model for fun, pleasure or profit (if you figure that one out let me know please) and enjoying the hobby that means so much to me. I welcome all questions and input from you out there sailing and wanting to sail, and only ask that you bear with us as we continue to grow and be patient in that this is basically a one man operation with some help here and there, so it can be difficult for me to be available particularly during the day when everything is actually happening. I miss phone calls, and emails, and despite my best efforts this will probably happen in the future. If you are attempting to contact me and/or obtain something I do apologize that things don't happen faster than they do... but atleast for the first few months of 2008 things are going to be extremely hectic. I have a backlog of boats and parts that will take quite some time to clear up.. but hopefully with all the new shop space we are going to be much faster at the things we do. The future of RC sailing is... well... so bright... I gotta wear shades... boats are leaping out of shops across America and now more so in Europe and Asia. The advent of the digital radios removing the frequency conflict from the equation means that events and meets will be limited only by the hosting club's desires. New classes are being formed, and new suppliers are coming forward almost monthly. All in all, it's a great time to be sailing R/C models. I firmly support the AMYA and encourage you to do the same. If you are a member please re-new your membership and if you are new to the hobby, I ask you to please visit the AMYA website at: www.modelyacht.org and spend some time as there is a great amount of information and help available to you there. To the many many customers we have had the pleasure of working with over the past 3 years, I say THANK YOU so very much for your patience and hope that you are all still enjoying your boats. We love seeing the pictures of them from all over the world. We have now shipped to over 20 different countries and look forward to adding to that list this year. Larry Ludwig Owner/Operator/ and I sweep out the place too. |
