OUR 7th YEAR ! January 1, 2010 Much awaited projects are beginning to move forward. 2010 is going to be a watershed year for model sailing as many new projects, classes, and events are held all over the world. Model sailing is finally going to see the exposure that it deserves. We hope to be right there providing the information and help needed to see R/C sailing finally become available to all who wish to enjoy and participate in our wonderful hobby. September 24, 2009 Basically only completing small orders at this time due to being in school full time and working on an internship. The good news is that since I am going back to full time employment I will be able to hire some help to complete the projects in house and hopefully begin stocking parts and new pieces. It's just more work than I can handle, and in order to try and help all the guys out there I have to step up production. January 14, 2009 Rolling into the 7th year of producing boats and parts, we are hopeful that 2009 will be a better year for increasing the amount of boats we can produce and that the designs for the fittings will stabilize into a single form for each mast and boat. The Star 45 will be the first new boat completed followed by the IOM ARES II which is waiting in the wings. Due to health problems that essentially stopped everything dead in the water last August, these projects were not completed. The cnc mill is slowly revealing it's mysteries and more and more becoming part of the team which is a big step forward in producing fittings, and actually creating another cnc mill which is a bigger brother that will be capable of doing plug work for future projects. October 1, 2008 WOW... 6 months got away mighty fast... a lot has happened since then. Mostly production of customer boats and parts has eaten up the time, but we are managing to improve things around the shop, and that includes testing on the ARES II IOM and the Star 45 plug/mold which is almost finished. The AC class is heating up with new boats and designs, the AC-15 class is coming alive which is going to be very interesting! We have the plug/mold for Alinghy almost complete, and the 1 off boat has been in the water now for months. J class is growing so fast, it is amazing, and boats are going to Europe now more than ever. March 13, 2008 The NEW IOM masts are here in stock. $25.00 for a .49" diameter mast with a sail track, 72" and 4.6 oz. Check out the spars page and look under IOM Class for pictures and details. February 4, 2008 The new Star 45 plug came in about a month ahead of schedule, so it has caused most other projects to be put on hold so that it can be completed. The IOM plug for the ARES is also nearly complete and is in the final phase before molding. January 21, 2008 Essentially the move is completed. We can now devote time to completing the shop and I am beginning to work on pieces/parts for back orders. This will be a major effort as the back log is quite sizeable. Interest in R/C sailing is at an all time high, and the projects and new boats I keep hearing about is almost a fever pitch. The number of regattas in all the classes it seems are on the increase, and traditional East and West coast boats are beginning to migrate to the other areas of the country. Also, more and more I am hearing from owners of older boats (1960s and up) that are learning about us and getting their boats back in the water. The samples for the new IOM Mast are here and they look GREAT! They turned out exactly to design specification, and we are very excited to put the new spars with our ARES IOM and the next step will be to being making the new fittings for the new spar so we will have the complete package. We have also moved into the new age with our first computer cut plug for the new Star 45 hull based on the most recent drawings from John Fisher which increase the freeboard of the forward section of the boat in an attempt to improve downwind performance. This should produce, the most accurate Star 45 hull to date.
January 6, 2008 Well... it's up anyway... the new website... about 15% of the final version is in place... and that is a major undertaking for me. There will be a considerable increase in information and content as it starts to filter into place. I encourage you to check back often as things start to fill in. Unfortunately, a minor distraction has caused me to delete the home page... so while I rebuild it... please feel free to surf around the rest of the website before I lose it as well. There will be considerable growing pains as we complete the move and update the website in between trying to make boats and ship orders. I thank you for your patience in advance. 2008 promises to be even bigger and more exciting than we ever imagined. 3 years ago the new website went up, and since then we have expanded and improved a tremendous amount and still have such a long way to go before even the basic services are covered. While the content and volume have not been nearly what I hoped to achieve in this amount of time, the amount of experience gained and people that we have worked with has been larger than ever imagined. We have shipped to more than 20 countries world wide, and that appears to be the coming trend as I constantly receive requests for information from Europe and Asia. |
